The Lancaster Bible College women's volleyball team won its third straight match, and fourth in five tries on Saturday morning, as the Chargers swept past Penn College, 3-0. Lancaster Bible improved to 6-7 overall and 2-0 in North Eastern Athletic Conference play with the 25-10, 25-12, 25-21 win, while the Wildcats fell to 1-10 overall and 0-2 in conference action.
 
How it Happened: Lancaster Bible began the match quickly, as the Chargers jumped out to a 9-3 lead after two straight kills from 
Ashtyn Bouslog. Bouslog's final kill began a run of 10 points in 11 tries, as 
Bekah Roberts had two kills, and 
Aleah Heyworth and 
Cassidy King added kills as well.
 
Courtney Goyak gave the Chargers a set point with two straight kills, and Lancaster Bible won it two points later on an error from Penn College.
 
The second set featured much of the same, as the Chargers opened a 12-3 lead after back-to-back kills from 
Cassidy King and another kill from 
Emma Thomann. 
Kate Smoker had two aces during the opening run as well, and the Chargers closed the second set with the final nine points, as Rebekah Godshall had three aces, including her final one that won the set.
 
Mandy Carroll's ace early in the third set gave the Chargers a 6-3 lead, and 
Chloe King smacked home a kill later in the set to make it 8-5. Penn College hung around in the third set, but kills from 
Martina McCauley and 
Chloe King made it 15-10 in favor of the Chargers, and Lancaster Bible won the set and the match on a kill from Carroll.
 
Statistically Speaking: Lancaster Bible had 41 kills and 19 errors on 99 attempts for a .222 hitting percentage, while Penn College had 12 kills and 16 errors on 84 attempts for a -.048 hitting percentage…Goyak and Roberts each had seven kills to lead the Chargers, while Bouslog had five kills and seven digs…Thomann had five kills and a block, while 
Cassidy King had four kills…
Allison Shuey had 24 assists and an ace, while 
Faith Helman had 12 assists and an ace…The Chargers had 12 aces as team.
 
The Coach Says: "It was good to get everyone playing time today, and we got a good effort from everyone, especially our younger players," Lancaster Bible Head Coach 
Micah Herron said. "The win caps off a great week for our program, and three wins, especially two conference wins, are big for us."
 
News & Notes: Lancaster Bible is now 5-0 all-time against Penn College…The Chargers are 2-1 at Horst Athletic Center this season…The .222 hitting percentage is the second-best mark of the season for the Chargers…Saturday was the fourth straight match with double-digit aces for the Chargers…Saturday was also the sixth time this season Lancaster Bible has had 40 or more kills in a match, and the Chargers are 3-3 in those matches.
