The Lancaster Bible College women's volleyball team split a pair of matches on Saturday in Harrisonburg, Va., as the Chargers defeated Hood, 3-1, before falling to the host Royals, 3-0. Lancaster Bible is now 2-5 overall this season.

Statistically Speaking: Lancaster Bible dominated the stats, as the Chargers held a 48-27 advantage in kills, and a 14-4 edge in aces…The Chargers also held a 63-46 edge in digs…Three Lancaster Bible players posted 10 kills, including Kate Smoker who had 10 kills, 10 digs and two aces…Emma Thomann had 10 kills and two blocks, while Bekah Roberts had 10 kills, two blocks and an ace…Aleah Heyworth chipped in with nine kills and eight digs, while Allison Shuey had 40 assists, 12 digs and a team-best four aces.
 
News & Notes: Lancaster Bible is now 10-4 all-time against Hood…Shuey posted 40 assists for the second straight match…The win was the first neutral site victory of the season for the Chargers.

Statistically Speaking: Lancaster Bible actually led in kills, 31-29, but the Chargers committed 24 errors, while the Royals had just 11…Lancaster Bible also led in digs, 43-39, but Eastern Mennonite held a 5-2 edge in blocks, and a 6-2 advantage in aces…Smoker again led the Chargers in kills, this time with 11, and also added nine digs…Heyworth had eight kills and six digs, while Ashtyn Bouslog had four kills and three digs…Cassidy King had three kills and eight digs…Hannah Johnson led Eastern Mennonite with nine kills.

The Coach Says: "We played OK against Hood, but took our foot off the gas at certain points of the match, and took some breaks mentally," Lancaster Bible Head Coach Micah Herron said. "We need to try and be sharp for the entire match, and not take plays off. Against Eastern Mennonite, we simply didn't play very well. No excuses, we just couldn't find a rhythm, and didn't play well. We need to start putting certain aspects of the game together, and start executing at a higher level."
