For the second straight week, a Lancaster Bible College baseball player has earned conference honors, as junior Ethan Varricchione was named North Eastern Athletic Conference Player of the Week on Monday afternoon, a week after teammate Josh Saufley was recognized. Varricchione helped lead the Chargers to their first-ever doubleheader sweep of Penn St. Berks on Saturday, and the Chargers remain perfect at 4-0 this season.

On Saturday, Varricchione went 3-for-4 in game one with a double, as he scored two runs and knocked in another during Lancaster Bible's 8-0 victory. Varricchione had three more hits in game two, as he went 3-for-5 with a triple, two RBI, and another run scored, as Lancaster Bible won, 8-4 in Reading, Pa. 

Through four games this season, Varricchione is hitting .600, and leads the Chargers with 10 hits and six runs scored. Four of his 10 hits are for extra bases, and his 1.125 slugging percentage is also tops on the team. Varricchione leads the team with six RBI this season as well, and his .647 on-base percentage is a team-high too. 

Lancaster Bible is scheduled to play four home games this week, beginning with a Wednesday doubleheader against Penn College. All four games can be seen on the Chargers Sports Network, beginning with Wednesday's first pitch at 12 p.m.
