Collegeville, Pa. – The Lancaster Bible College Men's and Women's Track & Field teams competed in the Frank Colden Invite hosted by Ursinus College on Saturday, February 5. More than 20 schools from Division I, II, and III competed at the meet, with hundreds of student athletes participating. The Chargers had a solid showing, setting six new school records with lots of personal bests as well.
Out of the Blocks
Leah Bergey had another great showing in the 60-meter hurdles, taking the top spot in the event with a time of 9.55. Bergey's time of 9.44 in the preliminary race tied her own school record. Lancaster Bible had two runners in the 60 meters, with
Josh Noll finishing in 7.70 and
Dustin Frantz setting a personal best of 8.53.
Elizabeth Lieb set a personal best in the women's 200 meters, finishing with a time of 30.96, while the men fielded two runners for the event, with Noll and Frantz finishing with times of 25.02 and 29.66, respectively. In the women's 400 meters,
Kara Huber reset her own LBC school record, finishing with a time of 1:06.44.
Nick Songster took ninth in the men's 400 meters, crossing the line in 55.10 seconds.
Daniel Lefko set a school record in the men's 3,000 meter race, crossing the finish line in a time of 10:10.15.
The men's and women's teams both competed in the relay events at today's meet. In the 4X200 meter relay, the men's team comprised of
Trey Baughman,
Kyle Gregory, Noll and
Nick Songster finished in 1:40.19. The team of
Hannah Lieb, Huber, Lizzy Lieb and
Erin Wilsey finished eighth in the 4x200 with a time of 2:00.13, setting a school record in the process. In the 4X400 meter relay,
Jonathan Collins, Baughman,
Adam Horning and Songster combined to run the race in a time of 3:47.66. The women's team finished tenth with a time of 4:41.81 with the same runners as the first relay. The team also posted a school record with the fast time.
At the Pits
Trey Baughman had a solid showing in the men's high jump, winning the event by clearing a height of 1.80 meters.
Kyle Gregory placed seventh in the event, clearing a height of 1.60 meters. On the women's side,
Leah Bergey and
Hannah Lieb jumped for the Chargers, with Bergey placing fifth at 1.40 meters and Lieb coming in seventh with a clear of 1.35 meters.
Kara Huber cleared a height of 2.30 meters in the women's pole vault, finishing ninth. The record was rewritten in the men's pole vault for
Nathan Vigil, beating his own record and taking fourth in the event by clearing a height of 3.80 meters. Vigil punched his ticket to the NCCAA Indoor Championships with this mark.

Melissa Baughman. "Nate Vigil really stepped up qualifying in pole vault today and
Emma Rohn had huge improvements in several of her heptathlon events. The women's relays showed great progress too. I am excited for our athletes to have the opportunity to compete at the NCCAA meet at Cedarville next weekend!"
