How It Happened
The Lancaster Bible College women's lacrosse team fell in their United East Conference Opener to St. Mary's College of Maryland by a score of 24-1Â on Wednesday, March 23.
The Chargers (5-2 Overall, 0-1 United East) struggled to gain possession early in the first quarter, allowing St. Mary's (Md.) (4-3 Overall, 1-0 United East) to grab momentum. The Seahawks scored six early first quarter goals, racing out to a larger early lead.
Kendal Ream then won a draw control and raced to the other end of the field, scoring LBC's first goal of the half. The Seahawks continued rolling, scoring six more goals to take a 12-1 lead going into the second quarter. St. Mary's (Md.) continued to build upon their lead, scoring six more goals in the second quarter, taking an 18-1 lead into the half.
LBC could not find the back of the net in the third quarter, despite controlling more of the possession then they did in the first half. St. Mary's scored four more goals, stretching their advantage to 22-1. The Chargers could not add another goal in the final frame, eventually falling 24-1.
