How It Happened
The Lancaster Bible College women's lacrosse team made a fourth quarter rally to knock off Medaille College by a score of 12-11 on Saturday, March 26.
The Chargers (6-2 Overall, 1-1 United East) took control early and off a successful clear attempt,
Katelynn Perrotta scored LBC's first goal of the game. With the game tied at one, Perrotta and
Kendal Ream scored back-to-back goals, giving LBC a 3-1 lead. Medaille (2-5 Overall, 0-1 United East) continued to fight back, scoring the last two goals of the quarter, but they trailed 4-3 heading to the second quarter.
Kym Kouterick opened the scoring in the second quarter, capitalizing on a free position opportunity for a goal, allowing LBC to take a 5-3 advantage. After Medaille tied the game at five, Ream scored off a pair of free position shots, stretching the lead back to two. The Mavericks closed out the quarter, by scoring a goal to pull back within one.
Medaille struck early in the second half, tying the game at sevenÂ. The Mavericks then scored three more goals, taking a 10-7 lead with 5:00 minutes to go in the third quarter. Ream and Perrotta answered back, each scoring one goal to pull LBC back within one going into the fourth quarter.
The Mavericks scored first in the fourth quarter, retaking a two-goal lead with 13 minutes remaining in the game. Perrotta answered back, scoring a highlight-worthy goal to bring LBC back within a point. With 5:03 remaining in the game, Ream scored her sixth goal of the game, in the process becoming the sixth player in school history to tally 100 career goals. The goal tied the game at 11. Having regained the momentum, LBC looked to take the lead with just over three minutes remaining.
Lindsey Weaver drew a foul on fast break, earning a free position shot from just off to the goalkeeper's right. Weaver charged forward and slammed the ball into the back of the net, giving LBC the 12-11 lead. The Chargers were able to regain possession and run out the clock, securing the program's first win over Medaille in school history.

Historical Note
Kendal Ream became the sixth player in school history to reach the 100-career goals mark. Ream scored with 5:03 remaining the in fourth quarter, tying the game at 11.
