How it Happened
The Lancaster Bible College baseball team took down Penn St. Berks in game two of their three-game series, winning 12-2 in their seven-inning matchup on Saturday, March 26.

The Chargers (9-10 Overall, 4-1 United East) grabbed a 1-0 lead in the first inning with Blake Greenly capitalizing on throwing error and scoring from third. LBC continued rolling in the top of the second inning when Kaden Hunt hit a single into center field. Greenly then smashed a double down the left field line, putting runners on second and third. Jaden Pinkney lifted a single into center field, allowing two runs to score, making the score 3-0.

LBC continued to grow the lead, scoring again in the third inning. Harrison Hobdy and Adam Naylor reached base and pulled off a double steal to put runners on second and third. Thade Hauge drove a single into left field, allowing both runners to score giving the Chargers a 5-0 lead. With the large lead, the pitching duo of Andrew Workman and Jackson York controlled the Lions (6-7 Overall, 2-3 United East), holding them to two runs on six hits.

The Chargers extended their led in the sixth inning, capitalizing on a pair of errors and a couple of wild pitches to score four runs and take a 9-0 advantage. After Penn St. Berks scored twice in the bottom of the sixth inning, the Chargers tack on three runs in the seventh inning, led by a triple to right field by Greenly. LBC held on for the 12-2 victory.

Inside the Numbers
- Blake Greenly continued to lead the Chargers' offense, going 3-5 with a double and a triple
- Jaden Pinkney went 3-4, scoring two runs and driving in two RBIs
- Adam Naylor recorded a pair of hits, driving in an RBI
- Thade Hauge drove in two RBIs for the Chargers
- The Chargers were aggressive on the basepaths with six different players swiping a base

On the Mound
- Andrew Workman pitched 2.0 innings, allowing no runs and only one hit, while striking out three
- Jackson York picked up the win, pitching 5.0 innings, allowing two runs on five hits

How it Happened
LBC closed out their series with Penn St. Berks, winning game three by a score of 8-6 to secure the series sweep.

The Chargers (10-10 Overall, 5-1 United East) struck first scoring in the third inning. James Toney doubled to right field to lead off the inning. Kaden Hunt smashed a double into left center, scoring Toney to give LBC the 1-0 lead. After Blake Greenly drew a walk and Jaden Pinkney singled through the left side, Brian Coburn lifted a sacrifice fly to left field, scoring Hunt. LBC tacked on another run in the fourth inning. Harrison Hobdy singled up the middle and then stole second to put himself into scoring position. James Toney then lifted a single into center field, scoring Hobdy to give LBC a 3-0 lead.

Greenly started a rally in the fifth inning by popping a single through the right side. Pinkney followed with a single to put a pair of runners on base. Ethan Varricchione then doubled into left center, scoring Greenly to make the score 4-0. Tyler Cunningham smacked a single into center field, plating Pinkney to make the score 5-0.

Penn St. Berks (6-8 Overall, 2-4 United East) tried to climb back into the game, scoring runs in the fifth and sixth innings. The Chargers answered back scoring one run in the sixth inning and two runs in the eighth inning to take an 8-2 lead. The Lions made one final push, scoring four runs in the ninth inning to close back within two runs, before the Chargers closed the door picking up an 8-6 victory.

- Blake Greenly went 4-5 smashing a pair of doubles
- Jaden Pinkney collected three singles, going 3-4 with an RBI
- Ethan Varricchione smacked a double, driving in two RBIs
- Tyler Cunningham went 3-5 with an RBI
- James Toney went 2-3 with an RBI
- As a team, the Chargers slugged five doubles
- LBC continued to swipe bases, stealing six bags

On the Mound
- Owen Shimmel got the start, spreading eight hits across 6.0 innings on the mound, holding Penn St. Berk to two runs. Shimmel also totaled eight strikeouts
- Colin Brubaker and Brian Coburn each pitched 1.0 innings, allowing only one hit during their time on the mound
- Blake Greenly closed out the game pitching the final inning, allowing four runs, one earned, on two hits

The Chargers will travel to take on Clarks Summit University on Wednesday, March 30 at 3:30 p.m.
