How it Happened
The Lancaster Bible College baseball team continued rolling in United East Play, defeating Gallaudet in game one of their three game series, winning 16-3 on Friday, April 1.

The Chargers (11-10 Overall, 6-1 United East) got on the board first, scoring in the bottom of the second inning. James Toney hit a single up the middle and advanced to third on a wild pitch. After Adam Naylor walked, he stole second and on the throw Toney stole home to give LBC the 1-0 lead. The Chargers extended the lead in the third inning. Jaden Pinkney and Blake Greenly each scored on wild pitches after recording hits. Ethan Varricchione drew a walk and after stealing second and third bases he scored on a wild pitch. Later in the inning, Adam Naylor reached base on an error allowing Tyler Cunningham to score. Josh Noll doubled to right center, scoring Naylor to give LBC a 6-0 lead.

Gallaudet (5-16 Overall, 1-5 United East) scored in the fourth inning to close back within five. LBC responded, plating runs in the bottom of the fifth inning. Varricchione led off the inning with a double down the left field line. Tyler Cunningham hit a single, putting runners on first and third. Harrison Hobdy then lifted a double into right field, scoring Varricchione. Toney then hit a hard ground ball to second, scoring Cunningham to put LBC up 8-1. Naylor plated one more run, hammering a double into left field.

LBC scored one more run in sixth inning, holding a 10-3 lead entering the bottom of the seventh inning. The Chargers worked the bases loaded with one out in the inning. Greenly crushed a line drive home run over the right center field fence, giving the Chargers a 14-3 advantage. Later in the inning, Varricchione hammered a two-run home run to left field, extending LBC's advantage to 13. The Chargers cruised to a 16-3 victory.

Inside the Numbers
- Blake Greenly led the Chargers' offense, going 4-5 hitting a grand slam in the seventh inning
- Ethan Varricchione blasted a two-run home run, going 2-4 with two RBIs. The home run was Varricchione's first of the season
- Tyler Cunningham went 2-3 with an RBI
- Adam Naylor, Josh Noll and James Toney each recorded an RBI
- As a team, the Chargers smashed nine extra base hits, including seven doubles
- LBC continued to be aggressive on the base paths, swiping six more bases, bring their total to 80 on the season. The Chargers are currently ranked in the top-10 nationally in stolen bases

On the Mound
- Trevor High got the start on the mound, pitching 6.0 innings, allowing two runs on six hits while striking out six Bison
- Jacob Stolte closed out the game, pitching the final 3.0 innings, allowing one run on five hits

Who's Next
The Chargers will continue their series with Gallaudet, taking on the Bison at 12:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 2.
