How It Happened

Tyler Cunningham roped a single through the left side, allowing Greenly to score and giving LBC the 1-0 advantage. Juniata (9-15 Overall, 3-8 Landmark) answered back, scoring two runs in the bottom of the first to take a 2-1 lead.

LBC tied the game up in the third inning. With Jaden Pinkney on first base, Brian Coburn hammered his first single of the game, putting runners on first and third. Cunningham lifted a sacrifice fly into left field, allowing Pinkney to score and tying the game at two. The Chargers retook the lead in the fourth inning. Adam Naylor and Mark Cullins smacked back-to-back singles to put runners on base. After Naylor and Cullins pulled off a double steal, Kaden Hunt worked a walk to load the bases. LBC continued to use their speed on the basepaths with Naylor scoring on a pass ball. Later in the inning, Cullins also scored on a wild pitch, giving LBC a 4-2 lead.

Both offenses grounded to a halt, with neither team being able to score any runs during the next four innings. LBC stretched the lead in the eighth inning. Pinkney reached on an error and Coburn then singled to put runners on first and third. Cunningham again launched a fly ball allowing Pinkney to tag up and score. Later in the inning, Harrison Hobdy singled up the middle, driving in a run to make the score 6-2.

The Eagles fought back, scoring three runs in the eighth inning and one run in the ninth inning to send the game to extra innings. In the top of the 10th inning, LBC had runners on the corners but could not plate a run. Juniata scored in the bottom of the inning, picking up the walk-off victory.
