The LBC Track & Field Teams set 12 new school records during an outstanding performance in the Blue Jays Tune-up Meet hosted by Elizabethtown College on Saturday, April 30. Before the meet began, the Chargers gathered together to celebrate seniors

In the Field
The Chargers once again shined in the high jump with senior
Trey Baughman winning the event by setting a new school record by clearing the bar at 2.00 meters. The mark places Baughman in a tie for 18
th in all of NCAA Division III. In the women's high jump,
Leah Bergey leaped over the bar at a height of 1.50 meters, which was good enough for third place at the event. In the pole vault,
Kara Huber won the event by clearing a height of 2.89 meters.
Ethan Wittneben set a new school record in the discus throw with a toss of 25.74 meters. Senior
Logan Klutinoty took 8
th in the Javelin, with a mark of 38.86 meters.
On the Track
LBC continued to show off their speed on the track.
Eric Zimmerman punched his ticket to the NCCAAÂ Outdoor Championships in the 100 meters, finishing fourth in the event with a time of 11.21. Zimmerman then shined in the 200 meters, winning the event and setting a new school record with a time of 22.10. In the 400 meters, senior
Nick Songster set a new school record with an impressive time of 53.72.
The Chargers set three new school records in hurdle events.
Leah Bergey was electric in the 100-meter hurdles, winning the event and smashing the previous school record with a time of 14.74. Bergey currently ranks 37th in all of NCAA Division III with her mark in the event. Bergey followed up her performance in the 100-meter hurdles by winning the 400-meter hurdles in a school record time of 1:05.95. On the men's side,
Elijah Herb reset his own school record, finishing third in the event with a time of 15.87.
In the distance events,
Daniel Lefko continued to show growth, setting a new school record in the 5,000 meters with a time of 17:18.70.
Josiah McClymont also set a new school record in the 3,000-meter Steeplechase by finishing fifth with a time of 10:38.64.
Emma Fertig also improved upon her school record in the women's 3,000-meter Steeplechase, recording a time of 12:53.13.
Relays
The Chargers' relay teams continued to improve upon their marks as they have all season. The men's 4x100 meter relay team made up of
Jalen Glasgow,
Logan Burkholder,
Adam Horning and
Eric Zimmerman set a new school record with a time of 44.41 in the event. In the women's 4x100 meter relay, the team of
Sydney Heller,
Elizabeth Lieb,
Kara Huber and
Leah Bergey smashed the previous school record, teaming to run the event in a time of 51.83. Finally, in the women's 4x400 meter relay, the team of Lizzy Lieb,
Sydney Heller,
Emma Fertig, and
Kara Huber reset the school record, finishing in a time of 4:28.50.
Coaching Points
"Today was a great day finishing out the regular season," said head coachÂ
Melissa Baughman. "It was filled with many PRs and school records. In addition, we were able to celebrate our seniors. Â All of these young men have had a great impact on our program and will certainly be missed!"
