The Lancaster Bible College Women's Volleyball team squared off against the Bison of Gallaudet University on Wednesday night in the battle of the unbeatens and for sole possession of first place in the United East Volt Division. The Bison however walked away with a hard fought 3-0 victory, putting the Chargers to 14-10 overall and 5-1 in conference while the Bison stay perfect in conference 5-0, improving to 25-3 on the season.
 
How It Happened: The battle of the top two didn't disappoint as the Bison stole the first set 30-28, setting the tone for the rest of the night. The first twenty points featured a tie score eight different times before the Bison put together a 9-1 run to take the lead 18-11. The Chargers responded with a 10-3 run of their own to tie the game at 21-21. The Chargers continued to trade points with the Bison, finding themselves ahead 28-27 following a block from 
Morgan Fenstermacher and 
Jessica Fletcher, but the Bison never backed down, rattling off three straight points for a 30-28 win.
 
Much like the first set, the Chargers and Bison continued to trade point-for-point, staying within one point of each other. It was at the 19
th point that, despite timely kills from Fenstermacher and 
Chloe King, the Bison pushed ahead to 22-19 and then again 25-21 to win the second set and take a 2-0 lead.
 
Continuing to battle every point, the Bison handled an early Chargers lead to go ahead 12-8 and continued to stay ahead through the third set leading to a 25-19 third set win and match win.
 
By the Numbers: The Bison had 36 kills to the Chargers' 31 kills… the Bison won the aces and blocks battle 8-6… the Bison tallied 32 assists to the Chargers' 26… the Chargers had 45 digs while the Bison had 48… 
Jessica Fletcher had a team-high nine kills… 
Chloe King added seven kills and a team-high 13 digs… 
Faith Hammond had five kills and three aces… 
Morgan Fenstermacher had four blocks… Natalie Clayberg led all players with 11 kills.
