The Lancaster Bible College Baseball team traveled to Washington, D.C. to battle against the Gallaudet Bison in a three-game series on Friday evening. The Chargers picked up a 13-4 win, improving their overall record to 6-17 and 3-7 in the United East while the Bison fall to 7-21 overall and 1-9 in the United East.

How It Happened: Senior
Blake Greenly got things going for the Chargers as he singled through the left side of the field, scoring
Kaden Hunt for the first run of the game.
James Toney followed it up with his own single, scoring
Dylan Witkowski and bringing the Charger lead to 2-0.

A Bison double scored two runs, tying the game at 2-2 after three innings of play. The Chargers kept things rolling as Hunt hit a double, scoring
Evan Sareyka, and Witkowski scored Hunt to make it 4-2. After a few scoreless innings from both teams, Greenly once again got things going, sending a sacrifice fly to right field and scoring Witkowski. The Bison managed to score one to bring the deficit to 5-3.

The eighth inning proved to be the separation point for the Chargers as they brought in a total of seven runs including six RBI singles. The Chargers got one more on the board in the top of the ninth off a Hunt single that brought in Sareyka, and only allowed one more Bison run in the bottom of the ninth to lead to a 13-4 win.

By the Numbers: The Chargers had 14 hits including 13 runs and 12 RBIs… the Bison had eight hits with four runs and four RBIs…
Andrew Workman struck out nine batters and Witkowski struck out two batters… Witkowski went 5-5 on the day with three runs and two RBIs… Hunt went 3-4 with three runs and three RBIs… Greenly and Toney both went 2-5 on the day… Diaz and Drolsbaugh had two hits each for the Bison.
