The Lancaster Bible College women's volleyball team lost 0-3 to Eastern University which was hosted by the Eagles. The Chargers' record drops to 2-3 on the year, and they are yet to play a conference opponent. The Eagles, on the other hand, jump up to 6-2 overall, also yet to play a conference match.
 
How It Happened: Both teams started out battling as the Eagles were able to take a brief 8-5 lead, but the Chargers quickly recovered thanks to two kills and a block assist from 
Faith Hammond to tie it up at eight. The teams continued to go back and forth in the first set which saw a total of eight tied scores. However, after being up just 18-17, Eastern finished the first set on a 7-1 run to seal the win.
 
In the second set, the Eagles picked up where they left off, starting out with a 12-4 lead over Lancaster Bible. The Chargers did not back down and sparked a 5-2 run started by a kill from sophomore 
Jessica Hendricks to bring it back to 9-14. Despite the pushback from the Chargers, the Eagles put their foot on the pedal to end the second set on an 11-3 run to end up with a 25-12 second set victory.
 
The Chargers refused to go down easy in the third set starting things out tied at 6-6. Eastern responded with a 6-1 run, forcing Lancaster Bible to call a timeout. Following the break, the Chargers got a quick three points unanswered behind two service aces from 
Ashlynn Fisher. 
Chloe King had two kills late in the set, but the Eagles kept on rolling and finished out the third set with a 25-15 win.
 
By the Numbers: Chloe King led the Chargers in kills with eight, and 
Faith Hammond was not too far behind with seven. 
Madeline Reed led the team in assists with 13, but 
Tessa Kwiatkowski added on 11 along with three digs. For Eastern, Elle Jiron-Bujanda stuffed the stat sheet with a kill, four aces, 26 assists, a block assist, and four digs.
 
Information to Know: The Chargers are yet to defeat the Eagles as they fall to 0-3 all-time. In the teams' three meetings, 
Chloe King has put up 20 kills against Eastern in her career. With an impressive six kills per match, senior 
Faith Hammond is on pace for 162 kills this season, a number that would be well over her current season high.
