The Lancaster Bible College Women's Volleyball team hosted their first tri-match of the season on Saturday afternoon, sweeping Keystone 3-0 in conference play and dropping a thrilling five-set match to RIT in non-conference play. The Chargers move to 19-6 overall and 6-1 in conference play, while the Giants drop to 17-6 overall and 5-3 in the United East and the Tigers improve to 16-10 overall and 3-3 in the Liberty League.

How it Happened:
The first set was all Chargers as they rushed to a 10-0 lead, highlighted by four kills from sophomore
Lea Sareyka. Keystone crawled their way back into the set, using a late four-point run to cut the lead to seven, but the Chargers closed it out 25-17 to take the lead in the match.

The two teams battled early in the set with seven total ties. Lancaster Bible used a five-point run accented by a service ace from sophomore
Madeline Reed to take the lead 12-7, then the Giants responded with three in a row with a big block to pull back within two. The Chargers won the last five points of the set to close out 25-17 and go up 2-0.

Set three was dominated by the Chargers, winning the set 25-7 with three different streaks of four points or more. Reed and senior
Leah Helman both landed service aces in the set and freshman
Madison Reap and junior
Riley Dodrer each knocked multiple kills in the set. The Chargers closed the set on a nine-point scoring run with kills from Dodrer and Sareyka sealing the deal and locking up LBC's spot in the United East postseason.

How it Happened:
The Tigers took control early with a 5-0 start behind a pair of service aces, but the Chargers cut the lead to 8-6 after back-to-back kills from
Lea Sareyka. The teams traded points in the middle of the set before RIT launched a 6-1 run to take control of the set and finish it off 25-18.

The Chargers took a 9-5 lead in the second set after six straight points with two kills and a block from sophomore
Jessica Fletcher. The Tigers fought to keep the score close for the remainder of the set, forcing eight ties and landing three service aces. The Chargers put together four straight points behind some great serving from freshman
Candace Fox, then closed out set two on a kill from
Eden Belford to win 25-23 and tie the match at one set apiece.

LBC dominated set three with two different five-point runs and four total aces in the set. Sareyka and Belford scattered kills in the set, then a block from Fletcher and Fox sealed the set 25-11 to put the Chargers up two sets to one. RIT responded by controlling most of the fourth set, overcoming an early four-point deficit despite kills from Fletcher, Fox, Sareyka, and
Madison Reap. The Tigers fought to win set four 25-21 and force a deciding fifth set.

It was all Tigers early in set five, taking a commanding 11-3 lead and forcing two Chargers timeouts. With their backs against the wall, LBC rallied with six straight points to pull within one point at 11-10 with kills from Reap and
Riley Dodrer and a nifty dig-kill from
Leah Helman. RIT, however, held on to take the set 15-12 and win an exciting match over the Chargers in five sets.
