Game Recap: Men's Basketball | | Hunter Gerber

Greyhounds Too Much for Chargers

The Lancaster Bible College Chargers traveled to Baltimore, Md. for a NCAA Division I exhibition game with the Loyola (Md.) Greyhounds. The Chargers lost 83-42. The Chargers stay at 0-1 on the season while the Greyhounds improve to 1-1 overall.

How It Happened: The Greyhounds jumped out to an early 6-0 lead in the first two minutes of the game but a layup from sophomore Dan King broke the ice for the Chargers to make it 6-2. A three-pointer from fifth year Jordan Praylow brought the deficit within two, 8-6, but the Greyhounds responded by running out to an 18-point lead with 10 minutes to go in the half. The Chargers saw buckets form Reaves Hooks and Camden Hurst but it wasn't enough as the Chargers headed to halftime down 48-14.

Opening the second half was a made jumper by Connor Storr followed by another one from Luke Rumbaugh. Nile Austin also added a jumper at the 16 minute mark to bring the deficit to 52-20. The Chargers continued to try to chip away getting buckets from Isaac Smalls, Trey Grube, Tyshaun Pulley, and Mark Heidebrecht but the Greyhounds proved too much responding to each score with one of their own. The Chargers managed to double their points scored in the second half but fell to the Greyhounds 83-48.

By the Numbers: The Chargers shot 37-percent from the floor, seven percent from the three-point line, and 33-percent from the free throw line… the Greyhounds shot 41-percent from the floor, 23-percent from the three, and 87-percent from the line… the Chargers had 28 points in the paint and added 25 bench points for the night… Praylow had a team high seven points followed by King and Hooks with six each… Jordan Stiemke had a game high 12 points for the Greyhounds.

Up Next: The Chargers return to the Horst Athletic Center for their home opener versus Lebanon Valley on Wednesday, November 13 at 7:00 p.m.
