The Lancaster Bible College Men's Basketball team traveled across town for a match with the Franklin & Marshall Diplomats on Wednesday night losing 86-60. The Chargers couldn't overcome an 11-point deficit at halftime as the Diplomats went on to score 48 points in the second half. The Chargers drop to 1-3 overall while the Diplomats improve to 2-2 overall.
How It Happened: The Diplomats opened the game with a layup to find the scoreboard first but a jumper from
Daniel King tied the game at 2-2 early. The Chargers went down by as much as 10 points around the 12-minute mark, but a layup
Grant Sareyka brought it back to within six points. The Diplomats though continued to work in the paint pushing the lead to as much as 15 points with just four minutes left in the half. The Chargers were able to cut the deficit to 11 points but it wasn't enough as they headed to halftime 38-27.
A three-pointer from
Camden Hurst to start the half brought the deficit within single digits but the home team responded with 10 straight points. The Chargers were unable to get anything consistent as the Diplomats lead reached 30 points with ten minutes left in the game. They went on to win 86-60.
By the Numbers: The Chargers shot 37-percent from the floor, 18-percent form the three point line, and 62-percent from the free throw line… the Diplomats shot 52-percent from the field, 27-percent from the three, and 64-percent from the free throw line… the Chargers had 25 points from the bench while the Diplomats scored 48 points in the paint… Sareyka led the Chargers with 21 points on 4-5 from the free throw… Hurst added seven points and two rebounds… Nowoswiat had 21 points for the Diplomats.
