How It Happened: Opening the first set down 2-0, the Chargers just couldn't quite get over the hump as they found themselves down by only a few points for the entirety of the set. It was at the end of the set that the Chargers got their best shot after a kill from Dawson Forney brought them to withing one point, 21-20. But the Mustangs went on to win 25-22 in set one.

Set number two started just the same with the Mustangs leading 2-0, but the Chargers took the lead for the first time 6-4 after three straight blocks from Craig Patrick and Hunter Davis. The Chargers managed to keep the lead all the way until the 11th point when the Mustangs reclaimed the advantage 12-11 and put together a 7-2 run to make it 19-13. Three straight kills from Forney put the Chargers within three points, 24-21, but the Mustangs won the second set 25-21.

Keeping the same pace as the previous two sets, the Chargers kept right behind the Mustangs until a five-point run capped by a kill from Patrick gave the Chargers a late lead 19-18. The Mustangs responded retaking the lead 21-20. With the match on the line, the Chargers tied the game at the 21st, 23rd, and 24th point before the Mustangs secured the 3-0 win 26-24.
