The Lancaster Bible College Men's Volleyball team took down Valley Forge 3-0 to pick up their first conference win in 2024. The Chargers are now 6-13 overall and 1-0 in the United East. The Patriots fall just below .500 at 6-7 this season and 0-1 in the conference.
Â
How It Happened:Â Both teams came out trading points early, but Lancaster Bible was able to pull away to a slight 9-5 lead. Valley Forge crawled their way back making it a two-point deficit, but after a wild rally,
Christian Herr had a momentum-changing kill to make it 11-15. Following a late 5-0 run by the Chargers, the team pulled out the first set win 25-18.
Â
The second set was all Chargers as they came out to an early 11-3 lead to start the set. Valley Forge made a slight fight to cut the deficit in half. Lancaster Bible answered quickly and pulled together an 8-2 run, and the Chargers ended up dominating the second set 25-14, just one set from victory.
Â
The Patriots refused to go down so easily in the third set, and for every point Lancaster Bible had, Valley Forge responded. After being tied at seven, the Chargers pulled away to a two-point lead, but again, the Patriots came back. Later in the set, the Chargers jumped out to a convincing 22-16 lead after leading by no more than three previously. Lancaster Bible closed the match with a third set win of 25-19 to finish the sweep.
