The Lancaster Bible College Men's Volleyball team didn't give up a set on Saturday as they opened United East Conference play against Valley Forge and Pratt Institute winning both, 3-0. The Chargers improve to 8-13 overall and start conference play 2-0.
vs. Valley Forge, 3-0 Win (25-11; 25-11; 25-10)
How It Happened: The Chargers got out to an early 11-4 lead and didn't look back from there cruising to a 25-11 win scoring four straight points to end set one. An early 8-0 run from the Chargers pushed their lead to 13-5 in the second set helping them win 25-11 once again followed by a demanding 25-10 win in the third set.
By the Numbers: The Chargers finished with 36 kills, four aces, 31 assists, and 44 digs… the Patriots had 12 kills and nine assists…
Carson Hoover led all hitters with nine kills while
Tyler Martin had two aces….
Craig Patrick added two blocks and
Christian Herr dished out 28 assists…
Ben Latham led in digs with 13.
vs. Pratt Institute, 3-0 Win (25-8; 25-11; 25-11)
How It Happened: A 14-2 lead to start their second game of the day, the Chargers rushed to three quick victories. Three strong starts put the Chargers in great position allowing several members to get valuable experience.
By the Numbers: The Chargers finished with 44 kills, eight aces, and five blocks… Pratt had 11 kills and 27 digs…
Nicholas Marion had nine kills and
Jake Rotelle had eight…
Zach Herb had six kills…
Christian Herr,
Mac Swineford, and
DJ Omogrosso all had aces… Latham led with 11 digs.
