The Lancaster Bible College Men's Volleyball team traveled to Langhorne, Pa. on Friday, March 24 for a United East match with the Highlanders of Cairn University, winning 3-0. Saturday night's win marks the fifth straight game and fifteenth straight set they've won. The Chargers improve to 10-13 overall and 4-0 in conference while the Highlanders fall to 4-13 overall and 3-1 in conference.
How It Happened: The Chargers faced a 2-1 deficit to start the night before rattling off seven straight points to take an 8-2 advantage. The run was comprised of a pair of kills from
Jake Rotelle, a pair of aces from
DJ Omogrosso, and a pair of blocks from
Kevin Bryant. The two teams continued to trade points with the Chargers, keeping a steady lead. Rotelle had three of the last five points for the Chargers.
Sets two and three weren't any different as the Chargers carried their offensive momentum into a 25-15 and 25-11 victory. The Chargers were paced behind Rotelle's game-high 13 kills followed by
Dawson Forney and
Nicholas Marion with 10 kills each.
Christian Herr dished out 38 assists for the night.
By the Numbers: The Chargers had 48 kills with five aces, five blocks, 44 assists, and 33 digs… the Highlanders tallied 20 kills with seven blocks and 17 digs… Omogrosso grabbed two aces… Bryant finished with three blocks…
Ben Latham had 11 digs… Joe Poirier had eight kills for Cairn.
