The Lancaster Bible College Men's Volleyball team hosted their first matchup in over a week of play on Wednesday night soaring to a 3-0 win over the Saint Elizabeth Eagles for their fifth conference win of the season. The Chargers improve to 11-13 overall and a perfect 5-0 in the United East while Saint Elizabeth drops to 8-17 overall and 4-2 in conference.
How It Happened: The Chargers opened the night with a 19-9 lead with kills from
Christian Herr,
Dawson Forney,
Jake Rotelle,
Nicholas Marion, and
DJ Omogrosso. The Chargers then rattled off a 6-1 run to close out the game 25-10.
The second set wasn't as simple however as the Chargers only led 16-12 at one point. Forney and Marion posted back-to-back kills to bring it to 18-13 and Rotelle added two more kills at the end of the game to close out the second set, 25-18.
Similar to the second set, the Chargers maintained a comfortable lead over the Eagles as Marion notched seven kills in the third set. The Chargers completed the 3-0 sweep with a 25-19 win.
By the Numbers: The Chargers had 42 kills with seven aces and four blocks… they also tallied 38 assists and 37 digs… the Eagles had 23 kills with two aces and one block… Forney had a game high 13 kills and Marion was close behind with 11…
Carson Hoover dished out four aces and Herr notched two blocks and 36 assists… Rotelle finished with nine digs while
Ben Latham and
Tyler Martin finished with eight and seven respectively… Kodi Peters had six kills for the Eagles.
