Women’s Volleyball Notches 10th Win Over Hood

The Lancaster Bible College Women's Volleyball team returned home after a five-game road trip where they went 4-1, earning a 3-1 win over Hood College on Tuesday night. The Chargers improve to 10-2 overall while the Blazers drop to 3-7 overall.

How it Happened:
The Chargers grabbed an early lead in the first set, using an 8-1 run with five kills from freshman Madison Reap. Later in the set, LBC took off with a massive nine-point streak, using kills from sophomores Lea Sareyka and Eden Belford and an ace from senior Leah Helman to open up the set and finish out a 25-17 win.

It was the Chargers again that controlled set two, racing to a 5-0 lead and maintaining that distance throughout. A five-point run highlighted the middle of the set, featuring kills from Sareyka, Belford, and Reap. The Blazers fought back towards the end, but the Chargers closed out set two 25-19 with a loud kill from Reap.

Hood College picked up some momentum in set three, grabbing the lead towards the end and winning the set 25-22 to stay alive. LBC continued their struggle in the fourth set, with the Blazers taking an early 6-2 lead. Two kills from sophomore Jessica Fletcher sparked a four-point run and gave the Chargers their first lead of the set at 8-7. It was in the middle of the set where another nine-point scoring run from the Chargers created enough separation, then LBC won the last five points of the set, with senior Emma Shaeffer landing three service aces to cap off set four 25-16.
