The Lancaster Bible College Men's Basketball team traveled to Media, Pa. for a road conference matchup with Penn St. Brandywine, cruising to an 80-53 victory for their fifth straight victory. The Chargers improve to 14-6 overall and 9-2 in the United East, while the Lions fall to 4-16 overall and 1-10 in the conference.
How it Happened:
After Brandywine opened the scoring, the Chargers launched 10-0 run and never looked back, with sophomore
Connor Storr knocking down a three and junior
Nile Austin scoring five in a row with a layup and a three. Freshman
Isaac Smalls ended the scoring run with a loud dunk, then sophomore
Camden Hurst hit a 3-pointer to build a 13-5 lead for LBC. The Chargers grabbed their first double-digit lead of the game on a layup by Austin, and the lead continued to grow up until the end of the first half when sophomore
Daniel King hit a pair of free throws to make it a 19-point game. The Chargers took a 39-22 lead into the halftime break.
The Lions quickly made a pair of buckets in the first minute of the second half to cut the lead to 13, but Hurst responded with a jumper and senior
Maureon Tisdale-Couch canned a layup to put the lead back to 17 points. After junior
Reaves Hooks knocked down a three, Smalls made a layup in transition the put the Chargers up 22 points. Both teams began to sub in their benches with around five minutes to play, with the lead holding at about 23 points for most of the time. Junior
Mark Heidebrecht scored a driving layup and sophomore
Tyler Chapman knocked down a pair of threes to cap off the 27-point win for Lancaster Bible over the Lions.
