The Lancaster Bible College Men's Basketball team raced to a 94-71 road victory over Cairn on Wednesday night, handing the Highlanders their first loss in United East play this season. The Chargers improve to 9-5 overall and 4-1 in conference play, while the Highlanders fall to 7-6 overall and now sit 4-1 in the United East.
How it Happened:
It was all Chargers from the jump as they raced to an 8-0 lead behind back-to-back threes from graduate student
Grant Sareyka and junior
Nile Austin. The Chargers continued the early push with another pair of threes from Austin and Sareyka, then sophomore
Daniel King made two layups to give LBC a 20-11 edge. Sophomore
Camden Hurst got hot late in the first half, racking up 10 points in the half on 4-5 shooting. Sareyka finished half one with 18 points as the Chargers carried a 48-37 lead into halftime.
Cairn made an early push in the second half to cut the deficit to just five points at 50-45, but the Chargers responded as graduate student
Jordan Praylow knocked down a 3-pointer plus the foul to boost the lead back to nine. This sparked an 11-point run for the Chargers as Sareyka and Hurst both hit shots to build the lead to 16 points. The Chargers led by as many as 32 points in the second half as Sareyka continued his hot streak with 13 points in a four-minute stretch, exploding for 40 total points in the game as LBC earned a statement conference win on the road over Cairn.

- The Chargers shot 53-percent from the field, 48-percent from deep, and 78-percent on free throws, while the Highlanders shot 42-percent from the field, 36-percent from deep, and 94-percent on free throws

Information to Know:
This was the Chargers' largest road win over Cairn in the 21st century at 23 points and their first 20-point win over the Highlanders overall since 2010.
Grant Sareyka registered his third career 40-point game, becoming just the third player in program history to do so (David Green, Sam Rempel). Sareyka's 40-point performance is the most in a single game this season in the United East Conference and is one of just two players this season with three 30-point games in the conference (Tye-Rell Monroe, Saint Elizabeth).
