The Lancaster Bible College Men's Basketball team returned home on Wednesday night, hosting Cairn in United East action and earning a 76-65 victory to extend their season-high winning streak to seven games. The Chargers improve to 16-6 overall and 11-2 in the United East, while the Highlanders fall to 10-12 overall and 7-6 in conference play.
How it Happened:
The Chargers got the scoring started on a fastbreak layup by sophomore
Camden Hurst, getting fouled and completing the three-point play. A layup and a step-back three from sophomore
Connor Storr extended the early lead to 8-0 for LBC, but Cairn ended the early run on a pair of free throws for their first points. After graduate student
Grant Sareyka sunk a 3-pointer, Storr stayed hot early with three of the next four buckets for the Chargers to extend the lead back to nine at 23-14. Junior
Luke Rumbaugh scored the next four for the Chargers, then again on a driving layup to put LBC up 13 points. The crowd in the Horst Athletic Center lit up as freshman
Isaac Smalls scored a tip-in layup with a foul, giving the Chargers their largest lead of the first half at 14 as they headed into halftime up 37-24.
Storr scored twice in the first two minutes to give LBC their largest lead of the game at 17 points, then senior
Tyshaun Pulley hit a midrange jumper to add to the lead. The Highlanders cut the lead to single digits with under 12-minutes to play, getting as close as seven points at 51-44 with 10:26 remaining. The Chargers responded with a quick 8-0 run as Pulley and Storr both connected on layups to quickly boost the lead back to 15. Junior
Nile Austin knocked down a corner three with seven minutes left, then Sareyka scored four in a row to maintain the distance from Cairn. The Chargers hung on in the end for an 11-point win and their eleventh win in conference play this season, sweeping the Highlanders in the regular season.

- The Chargers shot 52-percent from the field, 18-percent from deep, and 56-percent on free throws, while the Highlanders shot 40-percent from the field, 24-percent from deep, and 67-percent on free throws

Information to Know:
The Chargers are now 14-6 against Cairn since the 2005-06 season and have won four of the last five over the Highlanders. Lancaster Bible won both matchups this season over Cairn, securing the tiebreak in case of a tie and moving to 11-2 in conference and remaining in a tie for second with Penn St. Harrisburg, who the Chargers square off with on Saturday evening.
Connor Storr notched his sixth career 20-point game tonight and his second of the season, also passing 500 career points with a game-high 21 on the night. Storr also reached 200 career rebounds in tonight's game, tying his season-high with nine.
