The Lancaster Bible College Field Hockey team is ready to begin their 2025 season Friday against Houghton University when they travel to Houghton, N.Y. As the Lady Chargers begin their 21st season, they welcome their seventh coach in program history, as Kevin Hertzog takes to the sidelines.

Coach Hertzog shared what excites him most for the year saying, "Getting to know the team and watching them both on and off the field. On the field, I am very excited to see our growth as we look to bring a different style of play."

Last season, Lancaster Bible finished sixth in the conference with a record of 0-5 and an overall record of 2-15.

While there may be a new face on the sideline, there are a lot of familiar faces in the field. Those returners include goalie Amanda Hoover (Sr.) who finished the year with 123 total saves while playing every minute for the Lady Chargers. The Lady Chargers also return that played 900+ minutes include Riley Danko (Jr.), Hope Swarey (Jr.), Mira Rineer (Jr.), Gabby Dunlap (Jr.), and Hailey Whitmoyer (So.).

This core does not go unnoticed by Hertzog saying, "We will again be relying on each player to put in a significant number of minutes, we will be leaning on those experienced players to lead us and bring along the younger players." He goes on to add, "We have a strong group of incoming players. They will bring versatility and stability to both our midfield and defense."

The Lady Chargers have a handful of newcomers to add to this core group of returners. Emma Felpel (So.), Rebekah Hoover (Fr.), Alyssa Pantoja (Fr.), Bailey Simmons (Fr.), and Ayla Zwally (Fr.).

While Friday marks the beginning of the 2025 season, you can catch the Lady Chargers at home for the first time against Neumann on September 4th at 4:00 p.m. Friday September 26th marks the start of Lancaster Bible College Homecoming as the Lady Chargers welcome Randolph-Macon to the Donald H. Funk Field at the Willis and Martha Herr Stadium. They will close the season with conference play starting October 4th at Penn State Harrisburg and including Senior Day against Keystone University on October 18th, before finishing by traveling to Cedar Crest on October 25th.
