The Lancaster Bible College Women's Volleyball team got back in the win column on Thursday night as they traveled to Frederick, Md., sweeping Hood College 3-0. The Chargers move to 3-7 overall while the Blazers fall to 4-6 overall.

How it Happened:
The Chargers took a 3-0 lead in set one as junior
Lea Sareyka landed back-to-back service aces to start things off, followed by a kill from junior
Jessica Fletcher. The Blazers battled early in the set, but that changed after Sareyka landed five consecutive service aces to extend the lead to 16-8. Junior
Eden Belford landed a pair of kills late in the set, then Sareyka finished it off with a kill to cap a 25-13 set win.

Sareyka had a kill and an ace to begin set two, then Belford and Fletcher landed kills en route to an early 6-2 Charger lead. Sareyka had two kills to keep the lead at four, then senior
Riley Dodrer knocked a kill to reach 20 points for LBC at 20-15. Sareyka scored the final four points for the Chargers on kills to seal set two 25-19.

The teams went back and forth to start set three as they traded kills and aces. Hood College grabbed their only lead of the match with a two-point edge at 10-8, but the Chargers erased that with four straight points including two aces from junior
Madeline Reed. Sophomores
Candace Fox and
Faith Rex also added multiple aces as the Chargers kept the Blazers at a distance, finishing with the final three points including a kill and an ace from Sareyka and a setter dump from Reed to seal the set 25-20 and the Chargers victory.

The Chargers are now 9-4 all-time against Hood College and have won five straight against the Blazers, making this the first 3-0 sweep for the Chargers over Hood in nine wins. This marks just the seventh game in program history where the Chargers landed 20+ service aces, the third such occurrence under head coach
Julie Brubaker.
Lea Sareyka's nine service aces tonight make her only the sixth player in program history with nine aces in a single match.
