Women's Volleyball Drops 2026 Opener to Stockton

The Lancaster Bible College Women's Volleyball team began their 2026 season on the road as they took on Stockton in Haverford, Pa. for the Haverford Invitational, falling in straight sets. The Chargers open the year 0-1 while the Ospreys improve to 1-1 overall.

How it Happened:
The Chargers earned the first point of their season as Lea Sareyka (Sr.) landed the game's first kill, then a kill by Eden Belford (Sr.) got LBC within one at 4-3. The Ospreys separated for a 12-5 lead before a Sareyka kill halted the run, but another quick burst of five points from Stockton put the Chargers down 17-6. They cruised from there despite a service ace from Tessa Kwiatkowski (Sr.) for a 25-10 set one victory.

The second set was tightly contested with eight total ties as Maggie Kwiatkowski (Jr.) had two early kills for a 7-6 LBC lead. Stockton then swung ahead for the middle of the set, but a late run of six points from the Chargers bolstered by kills from Jessica Fletcher (Sr.) and Sareyka helped pull them ahead 22-20 after two Tessa Kwiatkowski aces. Fletcher landed a kill to force set point, but the Ospreys rattled off three straight kills to claim set two 26-24.

The teams traded points early in set three as Samantha Hey (So.) had two blocks and Chloe Belford dropped a solo block. Stockton maintained a five-point lead as the set progressed, reaching the finish line in a 3-0 sweep as they won set three 25-18 to earn their first win.
