Men’s Soccer Stays Unbeaten in East Region

Lancaster, PA- The Chargers clinched the number one seed and remained unbeaten in the NCCAA East Region, with a 3-1 win Saturday against Davis College. The Falcons played Lancaster close until Charger's leading scorer Cory Greiser (Quakertown, PA) banged two goals home in the final seven minutes.

“I give Davis credit, they played hard. I am pleased that we keep finding a way to win,” offered Coach Beers after the game.

Bryan Hege (Reading, PA) struck first for the Chargers, when he found the back of the net off a great feed from teammate Cory Greiser. Lancaster held the 1-0 lead late into the evenly played first half. Evan Hinkernell tied it for Davis in the 37th minute on a beautiful shot from 45 yards out that caught the Chargers off-guard.

Davis continued to play the Chargers tough through the second half. Again, the Chargers would not settle for anything less than a victory. Travis Weyandt (Claysburg, PA) found Greiser, who connected on his 13th goal of the season and the go ahead goal for the Chargers. Greiser added his 14th goal as an insurance goal less than a minute later to sink the Falcons. The Chargers improve to 11-4-1 on the season.

The Chargers return to action Thursday, when they host Columbia Union at 4:00 pm.
