Chargers and Crimson Eagles Tie 0-0

After seven straight losses to Philadelphia Biblical University, the Lancaster Bible College women's soccer team will take a tie. Though each team had chances throughout the match, the two teams battled to a 0-0 tie on Homecoming Weekend at LBC.

Senior goalkepeer Kirsten Shoemaker made six saves, recording her third shutout of the season. Crimson Eagle goalkeeper Kristen Lyszczasz made five saves for her second shutout of the year.

"I thought we looked much more organized in our defensive end today," Charger Head Coach Ken Craul said. "There was much more communication."

Shoemaker agreed that things looked and felt much better in the defensive end.

"The communication was much better today and the switches we made were much better as well," Shoemaker said.

Craul was happy the Chargers (2-5-1) played to their potential for much of the day and the game was exactly what he expected it to be.

"This was a hard fought battle between two evenly matched schools," Craul said. "I'm not disappointed at all. We expected it to be even, and it was."

While it wasn't a win, the Chargers will take the tie against the Crimson Eagles (1-6-1).

"We gave our best and that's all we ask of ourselves," Charger sophomore Jenna Godwin said. "We all stepped up and if we keep playing hard, things will workout."

Craul also took positives from the match.

"This is just one step," Craul said. "We lost 1-0 twice to them last season and to come out and get a tie, well we will take it. It's good not to lose to your rival."

The women are back in action on Tuesday night when they travel to Albright at 7:00 p.m.
