Reading, Pa. - Playing their first night game of the season, the Lancaster Bible College women's soccer team had the momentum of a hard-fought 0-0 tie on Homecoming to Philadelphia Biblical University on their side and fresh legs from not playing for three days.
The momentum was quickly taken away by Albright's Gloria Alfonsi who scored two goals in the first 14 minutes of the game as the Lions went on to post a 3-0 shutout.
LBC (2-6-1) senior goalkeeper
Kirsten Shoemaker posted 12 saves in the loss.
After the opening 45 minutes, Charger Head Coach
Ken Craul thought the defense settled down and played well.
"#Amanda Bracelin,
Whitney Heise,
Jenna Godwin and
Danielle Musselman all had very good games," Craul said. "After the first 40 minutes or so, we settled in and decided not to be pushed off the ball and play become a lot more balanced."
The Lions (3-5-1) out shot the Chargers 23-2.
The Chargers are back in action on Thursday when they host Penn State-Harrisburg at 3:00 p.m.
