The Lancaster Bible College women's soccer team dropped the final game of the regular season at Hood on Saturday, losing, 3-0. The game was tied, 0-0 at halftime, but the Blazers scored two quick goals, early in the second half to take control of the game.
LBC (12-6) was out shot, 23-4, but was kept in the game by goalkeeper,
Emily Lloyd, who made nine saves.
"Hood is a tough opponent and playing for the fourth time this week, I think the ladies had some tired legs today," LBC Head Coach
Ken Craul said. "Hood had great ball movement and distributed the ball very well."
The Chargers will have Monday to prepare for Tuesday's NCCAA East Region Semi-Final against Philadelphia Biblical University. The game, in Lancaster at 1:30 p.m., will be the second time the teams have met this season. LBC won the first game, 4-1, in Langhorne in September.
"It is nice that we can play the game at home," Craul said. "We will use today [Saturday] to refocus and begin our preparation for PBU."
Notes:
-The 12 regular season wins is the most for LBC since 2002 when they won 13 en route to the best season in school history when they went 16-6 and won twice at the NCCAA National Tournament.
-Valley Forge Christian will take on Baptist Bible in the other semi-final on Tuesday. The winners will meet on Saturday at the highest seed remaining.
