For a game that Lancaster Bible College Women's Soccer Head Coach
Ken Craul said was a measuring stick game for his team, the Chargers sure picked a bad time to come out flat.
Albright's Alex Talbot scored in the 16th minute and the Lions added two late goals to defeat LBC, 3-0 on Tuesday in Lancaster.
Further troubling for the Chargers was the injury to midfielder
Danielle Musselman. Musselman injured her right knee in the sixth minute and will be out indefinitely. She injured the same knee prior to attending LBC, two years ago.
After scoring more than four goals in each of their last four games, the Chargers had trouble mustering any kind of attack against a solid Albright squad.
"We did not get a good effort out of the entire team today," Craul said. "I thought we applied our energy and effort in poor ways. Albright was a better opponent then our previous four were, but we did not show up."
Kristina Clairmont and
Ally Brown each had three shots on goal for the Chargers, while goalkeeper
Emily Lloyd made five saves.
"Albright transitioned well and made some good plays, but I think our team feels like we did not play to our potential today," Craul said.
The Chargers (6-4) are off until Saturday when they face Cazenovia.
"We need to be efficient and make sure we are competitive each and every game," Craul said. "I think we are there as a team, but we don't understand that we can't give up cheap goals and expect to win. Possession in the offense end, both for us and against us is very important and we don't get that yet."
