The Lancaster Bible College men's soccer team continues its season today at 2:30 p.m. when it faces third-seeded Northland International University (the Chargers are the sixth seed).
Northland International
-13-6-1, lost to Moody, 4-1, in the Mid-West Region Final
-Josh Conover leads the team with 19 goals and 46 points [3rd in NCCAA Division II]
-Daniel Doran leads the team with 15 assists and is second with 41 points
-Goalkeeper Travis Kirkland is second in the NCCAA Division II with a 0.74 goals against average. He has 14 shutouts, which leads NCCAA Division II and has allowed just 15 goals all season.
-The Pioneers were third at last year's NCCAA National Tournament
Lancaster Bible College
-9-10-3, defeated Philadelphia Biblical in the East Region Final on penalty kicks, 4-3.
-
Taylor Dooley leads the Chargers with 10 goals and 23 points, while Sean Westerland also has 23 points [9 goals, 5 assists]
-Goalkeeper
Jarrod Bergey has a 1.72 goals against average and has four shutouts in his last six games.
-This is LBC's first NCCAA National Tournament appearance since 2009 when they took home fifth place
Other Notes
-LBC has only played Northland once prior to today. Northland came to LBC in 2002, and with Josh Beers at the helm for the Pioneers, defeated the Chargers 8-0.
-The aforementioned Beers not only coached, but graduated from Northland. He is now the Vice President of Student Services at LBC.
-Another graduate and former star player at Northland is Chargers' Head Coach
Tom Ardt. [He won't be rooting for his alma mater today.]
