Punchless Chargers Fall to Moravian

Box Score For the third time in four games, the Lancaster Bible men's soccer team failed to score a goal as Moravian defeated the Chargers, 1-0 on Wednesday in Lancaster, Pa.

Moravian's Lewis Cooper scored with just under 28 minutes to play as the Greyhounds defeated LBC for the second straight season. Moravian controlled play for much of the game, outshooting the Chargers, 21-7 and 13-2 in the second half.

LBC falls to 1-8-2 with the loss and Chargers' Head Coach Tommy Ardt said the team must take a look at itself in the mirror with only six games remaining in the regular season.

"We need to be unsatisfied with where we are," Ardt said. "We run hard and challenge balls, but we have to add to that a mindset where we are thinking ahead and anticipating. We can't just run hard, we have to be thinking as well."

Ardt said senior Dwight Shelly and freshman Dave Hunsberger played well for the Chargers and that the team should continue to be positive for the final three weeks of the regular season.

"Overall, we need to stay positive and understand that determination is key for us right now," Ardt said.

The Chargers' week of tough opponents concludes on Saturday when Penn St. Harrisburg visits Lancaster at 3 p.m. The game is part of LBC's Homecoming festivities and this year's Homecoming Queen will be announced at halftime.
