Box Score 3 The Lancaster Bible women's volleyball played another up-and-down weekend on Friday and Saturday as they went 1-2 in the final NEAC weekend of the season, played at St. Elizabeth in Morristown, N.J. The Chargers opened the weekend with a 3-0 sweep of SUNY Cobleskill on Friday night before losing twice on Saturday. LBC was swept by Keuka, 3-0 and then lost to Cazenovia, 3-2.

Katie Coomber (15 kills) and
Rachel Olson (10 kills) combined for 25 of LBC's 36 kills as the Chargers swept the Fighting Tigers. Olson added 24 digs, while Grace Schuerman added 14 digs and her sister
Faith Scheuerman had 13 digs.Â

The Chargers played well, despite being swept, against one of the best teams in the NEAC. Coomber continued her unbelievable run with 16 kills and 20 digs, while
Hannah Metzler added 21 digs and 23 assists.
Tricia Coale and
Faith Scheuerman each added 14 digs as well for LBC.

LBC suffered its worst loss of the season as Cazenovia (7-24, 2-8 NEAC) overcame a 2-1 deficit to win, 3-2 and send LBC to a 12-20 overall record and 5-5 record in NEAC play. Coomber and
Rachel Olson each had 17 kills, while Olson also had 21 digs.
Aubrey Folger and
Whitney Longacre each added four kills and
Emily Olson had six kills for the Chargers who lost for the fifth time in six matches.
Despite all of the bad news (and play at times), the Chargers have secured the fifth and final NEAC playoff spot with their 5-5 record. They will face fourth-seeded Penn St. Berks on Tuesday, Nov. 5 when the NEAC playoffs begin. Should they win, they will advance to the semifinals on Nov. 9.
Until the NEAC playoffs start, the Chargers still have some matches remaining in the regular season, as well as the NCCAA East Region tournament which will be held next Saturday at Cairn in Langhorne, Pa.Â
LBC will face Susquehanna on Wednesday night in Selinsgrove, Pa. at 7 p.m.
