Box Score The Lancaster Bible College women's soccer team posted its fourth straight shutout victory on Sunday as the Chargers blanked Cazenovia, 2-0 in Cazenovia, N.Y. The victory improves the Chargers to 4-2 overall and 3-0 in North Eastern Athletic Conference play, while the Wildcats fell to 2-5, 1-3 NEAC.
How it Happened: Much like Saturday's win at Morrisville State, the Chargers controlled play throughout most of the first half, but came up empty on the scoreboard as the teams went into halftime knotted at 0-0.
Just over a minute into the second half, the Chargers finally broke through as
Rachel Kumher's cross on a corner kick found
Alyssa Wesner and Wesner put it into the back of the goal for her second goal of the season. Less than five minutes later, a Cazenovia defender attempted to clear the ball from going into the goal, but ended up hitting the ball with her hand and was given a red card and the Chargers were awarded a penalty kick.
For the second time in 24 hours, junior
Raegan Horst converted a penalty kick opportunity and gave the Chargers a 2-0 lead and she improved to 2-for-3 on PK chances this season.
Lancaster Bible continued to hold the majority of possession the rest of the way and cruised to its fourth straight win.

The Coach Says: "We came out a little flat and it took us about 10 or 15 minutes to get our legs," Lancaster Bible Head Coach
Leah Sipe-McDermott said. "We had the majority of the possession the whole game and did a good job sort of tiring Cazenovia out."
"Wesner's goal was great and to capitalize on the PK chance just a few minutes later was big for us," Sipe-McDermott said. "Our second group played a lot in the second half and it has been great to get them lots of experience this weekend."
"It's always good to win both games in New York and I think we showed a lot of resolve being able to play back-to-back games this well," Sipe-McDermott said. "We won a lot of 50-50 balls in the second half and I'm very pleased the girls have committed to doing that."
