Hickey & Tilton Named to NEAC All-Conference Teams

The North Eastern Athletic Conference announced its selections for Women's Basketball All-Conference on Thursday morning, and two Lancaster Bible College players earned yearly honors, as senior Caitlin Hickey was named NEAC Player of the Year, and earned NEAC All-Conference First Team honors, and junior Lizzy Tilton was named to the NEAC All-Conference Second Team.

Hickey is just the second player in program history to be named NEAC Player of the Year, joining Aubrey Folger who won the award in both 2014-15 and 2015-16. Hickey has now been named to the NEAC All-Conference First Team for three straight seasons, and was a NEAC All-Conference Second Team selection as a freshman. Hickey was also named NEAC Rookie of the Year during her freshman season, and has now book-ended her career with individual awards from the NEAC.

Hickey has appeared in all 26 games for the Chargers this season, and has averaged 16.8 points per game, in addition to grabbing 5.1 rebounds and dishing out 2.4 assists per contest. Her 16.8 points per game are third-most in the conference, and her 80.2 free-throw percentage is the fourth-best mark in the NEAC.

Hickey has scored in double figures 21 times in 25 games this season, including 10 games with 20 or more points. Hickey had a stretch of six straight games of over 20 points, which also coincided with the Chargers going 9-0 from Jan. 22 to Feb. 18.

Tilton earned NEAC All-Conference honors for the first time in her career this season, as she was excellent on both ends of the floor for the Chargers. She is currently averaging 12.8 points, 6.4 rebounds, and 4.4 assists per game, and also leads the team with 37 steals and 33 blocks. Tilton's 111 assists this season are the second-most in the NEAC, and her 33 blocks are also the second-most in the conference.

Tilton averages 36.6 minutes per contest this season, and she has played all 40 minutes nine times this year. In addition to helping the Chargers offensively, she has locked down opponent's point guards all season, and has helped the Chargers allow just 61.7 points per game this year.

In addition to Hickey earning NEAC Player of the Year, Cassidy Perry from Gallaudet was named NEAC Rookie of the Year, while Erin Skaradek from Morrisville State earned NEAC Coach of the Year.

Hickey and Tilton will lead the Chargers into the NEAC Semifinals on Saturday, as Lancaster Bible takes on Morrisville State at 4 p.m. The game will take place at top-seeded SUNY Poly.
