LATHAM, N.Y. - The United East announced their Weekly Award winners for the fall sports today. The Chargers Women's Soccer team swept the awards, with
Kendal Ream earning the Offensive Player of the Week Award and
Hannah Lieb picking up the Defensive Player of the Week Honor.
Ream continued her excellent start to the season, netting her seventh and eighth goals in the team's 2-0 win over Penn St. Abington. In the 73
rd minute
Kara Huber found Ream with space in the box and she buried the shot in the lower left corner of the net to give the Charger a 1-0 advantage. Ream would enter the scoring column again in the 81
st minute, blasting her second goal of the game into the back of the net giving the Chargers full control of the game. On the defensive end, Lieb stepped up to lock down Penn State Abington's attack. She anchored the defense making six saves to secure her first shutout.
