Women's Lacrosse Takes Down Delaware Valley

How It Happened
The Lancaster Bible College women's lacrosse team picked up the program's first ever win over Delaware Valley, defeating the Aggies by a score of 15-8 on Saturday, March 19.  

Katelynn Perrotta opened the scoring for the Chargers, striking a minute into the game. Delaware Valley answered, tying the game at one. Kayla Steiner then found the back of the net to make the score 2-1, and Kendal Ream extended the lead to two. Later in quarter, Perrotta found a cutting Ream for a goal. Moments later Ream returned the favor, find Perrotta to put the Chargers up 5-2. The Aggies scored the final goal of the quarter, but LBC led 5-3 going to the second quarter.

The Aggies scored the first goal of the quarter to pull back within a goal. Perrotta then struck, scoring on a free position shot, making the score 6-4. After winning the draw control, Ream raced down the field and scored to give LBC a 7-4 lead. LBC held the 7-4 lead going into the halftime break.

Ream opened the second half by scoring on a free position shot. The Aggies scored back-to-back to pull back within two goals. LBC responded, going on a 4-0 run, featuring two goals each by Ream and Steiner, giving LBC a 12-6 advantage. The Chargers continued rolling in the final quarter scoring the first three goals of the quarter, taking a 15-7 lead. The Chargers' defense held Delaware Valley to one goal in the final quarter, winning the game 15-8.

Inside The Numbers
- Kendal Ream led the Chargers' offense, scoring eight goals and dishing two assists
- Katelynn Perrotta scored four goals and dished three assists
- Kayla Steiner found the back of the net three times and dished an assist
- Alexis Garrett made seven saves in goal
- The Aggies were led by Kiara Haywood-Rivera who scored two goals

Who's Next
The Chargers hit the road to open United East play, taking on St. Mary's College of Maryland on Wednesday, March 23 at 4:00 p.m.
