How It Happened
The Lancaster Bible College women's lacrosse team closed out their road trip with a victory, taking down Wells College by a score of 20-4 on Saturday, April 23.
It was all Chargers (10-5 Overall, 4-1 United East) in the first quarter, with Kayla Steiner opening the scoring two minutes into the game. Kendal Ream quickly boosted the lead, scoring back-to-back goals to put LBC up 3-0. The fast start continued with Katelynn Perrotta netting her first two goals of the game, one of them off an assist from Steiner. Ream and Steiner both added another goal, extending the lead to seven. The Chargers' offense and defense formed a complete attack, holding Wells (3-10 Overall, 1-4 United East) scoreless in the first quarter.
The Express got on the board early in the second quarter, then neither team could score for about five minutes until Ream capitalized on a player-up opportunity, netting her third goal of the game. In the latter portion of the half, Kym Kouterick and Ream scored to put the Chargers up by eight. Ream then found Abby Donaldson for a score to extend the lead to nine goals. Wells added a goal just before the half, but Lancaster Bible held an 11-3 lead at halftime.
The Chargers' defense went to work again, shutting out the Express in the third quarter. Ream found Perrotta for a goal just 56 seconds into the half, then Perrotta returned the favor, finding Ream for a score to put LBC up by 10. Ream scored three straight goals for the Chargers, helping her team build a 12-goal lead. Steiner then netted a goal with a player-advantage, putting LBC up 16-3. Amanda Allen scored her first goal of the game with 20 seconds to spare, sending the Chargers into the final quarter leading 17-3.
Allen carried her momentum into the fourth quarter, scoring her second goal to put LBC up by 15. After Wells scored to cut into the lead, Paige Beidler scored her first goal of the season off a pass from Allen. Steiner closed out the scoring for the Chargers, with LBC finishing off the 20-4 victory.

Who's Next
The women's lacrosse team will conclude their regular season on Saturday, April 30 as they take on Mount Aloysius at home. The team will also recognize the seniors before the start of the game.
