How It Happened
The Lancaster Bible College baseball team dropped its United East First Round game to #2 seed Penn State Abington by a score of 18-6 on Monday, May 9 at 3:00 p.m.

The Chargers fell in an early hole, allowing a three-run home run in the first inning. LBC answered back in the top of the second inning. Harrison Hobdy started the rally, smashing a double into center field. After Hobdy advanced to third, Josh Noll reached on error, allowing Hobdy to score. Later in the inning, Kaden Hunt drove a single into right field, allowing Noll to score from second. Brian Coburn hammered a single through the right side, scoring Hunt to tie the game at three.

The Lions answered back, scoring twice in the bottom of the second inning to surge back ahead by a score of 5-3. The Chargers plated another run in the third inning. LBC worked the bases loaded with no outs in the inning. Hobdy lifted a sacrifice fly into center field allowing Jaden Pinkney to tag up and score, cutting the deficit down to one. Penn St. Abington scored in the bottom of the third to take a 6-4 lead. Blake Greenly led off the fourth inning by blasting a solo home run over the left field fence, making the score 6-5.

Penn St. Abington scored four runs in the fifth inning, grabbing momentum and taking a 10-5 lead. The Chargers tried to climb back into the game in the seventh inning. Andrew Kidder singled to third base and stole second to move himself into scoring position. Adam Naylor rocketed a single into center field, allowing Kidder to score, making the score 11-6. The Chargers could not slow Penn St. Abington's offense, allowing the Lions to score seven runs in the final two innings to fall 18-6.

Who's Next
The Chargers will continue play in the United East Championship, playing in an elimination game against #4 seed Penn College on Tuesday, May 10 at 9:00 a.m. in Middletown, Pa. If the Chargers win that game, they will play in another elimination game scheduled for 3:00 p.m.
