The Chargers traveled to Newville, PA on Saturday, October 7th to compete in the Dickinson Pre-National Meet. Later this season, the Division III Cross Country Championships will be held at the same location. Teams traveled from all over the country to have a chance to run on the future championship course. Cross Country will take a week off before returning to action on Friday, October 20th when they travel to nearby Annville for the LVC Last Chance Invitational before the United East Conference meet on October 28th.
Men's Results
The Pre-National meet saw 38 teams and 378 runners in competition.
Mitchell Gray was the 153rd runner to cross the line, doing so in a time of 26:57.0.
Daniel Lefko crossed the line next for the Chargers in a time of 29:41.8, followed by
Adam Horning who crossed in a time of 30:09.9.
Harry Gibson cut a little over two minutes off his time in his second 8K of his career. He crossed the line in a time of 31:19.7. Gibson was followed close behind by
Alex McWilliams who registered a final time of 31:21.4. The final runner for LBC on Saturday was
Dustin Frantz. He crossed the line in a time of 38:26.7, a minute faster than his previous best. The team finished 37/38 with a score of 1,095.
Women's Results
On a course that has been known to be challenging to many, the Chargers all came ready to run and each of the seven runners left with a new personal best time in the 6K.
Dana Keller finished 168th out of the 359 individuals in the race. She crossed the line in a time of 24:34.0 to improve her previous best time set last season by a little more than a minute.
Abby Ames continues to shave minutes from her time as the season progresses as she knocked another minute and a half of her time, crossing in 26:04.0. Next to cross was
Lydia Talbott in a time of 27:32.3. Her previous best time of 28:34.2 was set during her freshman campaign. The remaining four Chargers crossed the line within 10 places of each other. First of the group was
Lydia Goodling, crossing in a time of 29:44.4, a minute improvement of her best time from last meet. Two places behind her was
Kenzie Baughman who knocked about a minute and a half of her previous best from this season, finishing in a time of 30:34.6.
Jurnee Acosta was the next runner to secure a new personal best time, crossing the line in a time of 30:58.1. The final Charger of the day was
Rosa Johnson, crossing in a time of 32:18.1, nearly two minutes faster than her time set last weekend. The team finished 36/39 with 1,102 points.
