Cross Country Totals Five on All-Conference, Eckenroad Named Women's COTY

The United East Conference announced their All-Conference and Major Award winners for the 2025 Cross Country season on Tuesday and Wednesday, with five total Chargers across both the Men's and Women's teams earning All-Conference recognition. In addition, head coach Silas Eckenroad was recognized as Women's Cross Country Coach of the Year for the United East in his first season with the Chargers. For the men, David Helms (Jr.) earned First Team honors, and for the women, Seana Dougherty (So.), Abby Ames (Jr.), and Cadee Cameron (So.) made the First Team while Shawna Donough (Fr.) earned Second Team honors.

Helms has been the spearhead for the Men's Cross Country team this season, being the first Charger to cross the line for the team in every meet this season. He set a new career-best at the Aubrey Shenk Invitational in Gettysburg, Pa. with a time of 25:50.3 on October 18. At the United East Championship, David had a runner-up finish in second place with a time of 27:44.47, improving upon last year's finish by 31 seconds and finishing just 21 seconds behind the leader on Saturday morning.

She set a season-best time of 24:22.5 on September 27 at Dickinson and had three top-3 finishes in meets this season, placing second at the United East Preview on September 12 and placing third at the Highlander Invitational on October 4.

Ames finished right behind her, placing fourth overall with a time of 24:47.71 on Saturday. Abby was last season's conference runner-up and is now a three-time All-Conference runner and two-time First Team finisher. She set a new program record earlier this season in the 6K race on October 18 at the Aubrey Shenk Invitational with a time of 23:20.4, besting the old record by 15 seconds.

Cameron saw massive improvement this season as she finish in fifth place on Saturday afternoon, boasting a time of 24:59.85 and finishing about one minute behind the leader. Cadee set a career-best time of 24:14.0 on October 18 in Gettysburg, Pa. and earned her first career All-Conference selection and third career top-5 finish at a meet.

Donough made the Second Team in her first season with the Chargers, running a time of 27:48.22 for a 16th-place finish on Saturday afternoon. Shawna chopped over two minutes off her 6K time over the course of the season, setting a personal-best time of 26:55.8 on October 18 at the Aubrey Shenk Invitational and earning All-Conference honors in her first year.
