The Lancaster Bible men's and women's cross-country teams traveled to Gettysburg, Pa to compete at the Aubrey Shenk Invitational hosted by Gettysburg. The event would consist of 34 men's teams and 33 women's teams. The Charger men would go on to finish 30
th and the women 15
th overall.
The Charger men's team would be made up of six different runners.
David Helms would be the first to cross for the Chargers in 25
th place with a time of 25:50.3.
John Spackman and
Victor Hanley would be the next two Chargers to cross at 29:50.5 (219
th) and 31:00.2 (249
th). Jay Royal crossed the finish line at 31:34.9 (261
st). The final two Chargers to cross would be
Dustin Frantz and
Caleb Woods at 37:31.0 (303
rd) and 42:03.4 (308
th). The team would score a total of 763.
The Charger women's team would be comprised of six different runners.
Abby Ames would be the first to cross with a program record 23:20.4, landing her in 40
th place. Not too far behind would be teammate
Seana Dougherty with a time of 23:47.2 placing her in 57
th.
Cadee Cameron and
Shawna Donough were the next to cross at 24:14.0 (74
th) and 26:55.8 (192
nd).
Rosa Johnson would finish in 247
th with a time of 29:37.2. The final Charger to cross would be
Faith Garber at 38:38.3 (293
rd). The team would end with a total score of 475.
Melissa Baughman, Director of Track and Field and Cross Country said this about the day. "Great meet today! We saw lots of good competition and a fast course. Everyone had big PRs today."
