The Lancaster Bible men's and women's cross-country teams were in Carlisle, Pa Saturday morning for the Dickinson Long and Short Invitational. The Chargers would be one of 19 schools to compete in the event, including two additional teams representing the United East. The men's team would see a 12
th place finish and the women's team an 8
th place finish.
The men's race would be the first to hear the starting gun, running the 8k distance.
David Helms would be the first Charger to cross the finish line at 27:33.6, giving him a 12
th place finish. Following Helms would be John Speckman with a time of 31:32.8.
Victor Hanley and Jay Royal would finish close together at 33:46.6 and 34:15.4. Kingsiah Oquendo and
Dustin Frantz would be the final two Chargers at 37:31.2 and 41:03.4. The Chargers would finish with a total of 134 points.
The women would take to the starting line next for their 6k race.
Seana Dougherty would claim an 18
th place finish at 24:22.5. Abbey Ames and
Cadee Cameron would be the next two Chargers to cross, 25:07.5 and 25:21.2. In 88
th place would be
Shawna Donough with a time of 28:12.3.
Rosa Johnson and Faith Garber would conclude the race for the Chargers at 30:38.6 and 42:42.4. The Chargers would finish with a score of 80.
