Baltimore, Md. - The Lancaster Bible College Men's and Women's Cross Country teams began their 2023 season by competing at the Baltimore Metro Meet in Baltimore, Md. The Chargers are back in action on Saturday, September 16th at 10:00 a.m. when they travel to Langhorne, Pa to compete at the Conference Preview hosted by Cairn University.
Men's Team - Finished sixth out of eight teams
Leading the way for the Chargers was 2022 Conference Champion
Mitchell Gray. Gray turned in a time of 16:14.6, a new personal best time in the 5K. His previous best time of 16:23.7 was set exactly a year ago at the same meet. He finished 21st out of the 93 competitors in today's race. The next three Chargers crossed the line within 32 seconds of each other. Leading that trio was
Daniel Lefko who crossed the line in a time of 18:15.1.
Adam Horning (18:28.3) and
Harry Gibson (18:47.4) were close to follow.
Also racing for Lancaster Bible were
Alex McWilliams (19:03.2),
Jaden Royal (19:29.8),
Ryan Barthelemy (21:39.6) and,
Dustin Frantz (24:04.4). McWilliams improved his personal best 5K time of 19:06.9 set at this meet last year.
Women's Team -
The 2022 Conference Rookie of the Year
Dana Keller started her 2023 campaign strong with a new personal best 5K time of 21:29.25, improving her previous best of 23:27.8 by nearly two minutes.
Lydia Goodling,
Rosa Johnson, and
Hannah Scott all made their debuts for Lancaster Bible on Friday night. Goodling crossed the line in a time of 24:51.97.
Rosa Johnson finished the race in a time of 28:28.31 while
Hannah Scott came across the line in a time of 30:37.36.
