The Lancaster Bible College Women's Volleyball team met their match on Wednesday night as they suffered a 3-0 loss to Gallaudet in conference play. The Chargers drop to 18-5 overall and 5-1 in the United East, while the Bison improve to 24-4 overall and remain perfect in conference at 7-0.

How it Happened:
The Chargers got up early with a 4-1 lead behind several Bison errors, then sophomore
Jessica Fletcher got the team's first kill of the match to make it 5-3. The teams traded points for most of the set as neither team could make a push, featuring 10 total ties. Sophomore
Lea Sareyka had a kill and an ace to help force a Gallaudet timeout after three in a row from the Chargers, then Gallaudet came out and grabbed a two-point lead at 19-17 to force a LBC timeout. The Bison rolled from there, taking the set 25-19.

It was Gallaudet that took an early lead in set two with the first seven points of the set. Fletcher and freshman
Madison Reap sprinkled in kills throughout the set, but it was all Bison as they rolled to a 25-10 win to put the Chargers on the brink.

The teams battled it out early with the first eight points being traded, then the Bison went on a five-point run to go up 9-4 and force a timeout. The Chargers responded with four of the next six points as Reap and Fletcher landed kills and sophomore
Madeline Reed had an ace to force a timeout on the other side. The Bison led by as much as seven in the set, but the Chargers kept battling as kills from Sareyka, Fletcher, and freshman
Maggie Kwiatkowski brought them within three. Gallaudet was able to close it out, however, and take set three 25-21 and hand the Chargers their first United East loss of the season.

The Chargers are now 2-15 all-time against Gallaudet and have dropped five in a row to the Bison. The Chargers had a season-high six-game win streak snapped tonight while Gallaudet has won 16 straight games dating back to September 19. Leah Helman moved into 4
th place in program history with 183 career service aces and surpassed 1,700 career digs, becoming just the third player to reach that mark and is now 68 digs away from setting the all-time program record.
