Women's Volleyball Prepped for First Appearance at NCCAA Division I Nationals

The Lancaster Bible College Women's Volleyball team is championship-bound as they won the National Christian College Athletic Association Mideast Regional title and have earned their spot in the eight-team field at the NCCAA Division I National Tournament in Point Lookout, Mo. this week. This is the Chargers' first-ever appearance in the Division I National Tournament and they will seek their first tournament win as they play three pool play games on Wednesday, December 4 and Thursday, December 5 with the hope of clinching a national semifinal berth on Friday, December 6. The Chargers will face Jessup University, Grace College (Ind.) and host school College of the Ozarks over a two-day span.

The Chargers have already had a record-setting season as they boast a program-record 26 wins and five All-Conference players for the first time as a program. They finished with an 11-3 record in home games, reaching double-digit home wins in back-to-back seasons, and had four different win streaks of five or more games including an 8-1 record in neutral site contests. The Chargers finished with the two-seed in the United East this season and advanced to the championship game for the first time since 2018. Lancaster Bible also earned the top seed in the NCCAA Mideast Region and defeated Ohio Christian 3-1 on Friday, November 22 to claim their first regional title as a Division I member and their first regional title since 2014.

No. 6 Lancaster Bible College {Lancaster, Pa. | 26-7 overall}
No. 7 College of the Ozarks {Point Lookout, Mo. | 18-13 overall}
No. 8 Carolina University {Winston-Salem, N.C. | 18-10 overall}

The Chargers have three guaranteed matchups out in Point Lookout, Missouri as there are two pools of four teams each that will play each other in a round-robin format. All three teams that the Chargers play will be first-time matchups as they are located all over the country. Lancaster Bible begins their slate against Jessup on Wednesday, December 4 at 12:15 p.m. (11:15 a.m. CT), then matches up against Grace (Ind.) at 9:15 p.m. (8:15 p.m. CT) to close out day one of competition. Then, the Chargers face host team College of the Ozarks on Thursday, December 5 at 9:15 p.m. (8:15 p.m. CT) in the final pool play match of the tournament. If the Chargers finish either first or second in their pool, they will advance to the national semifinals on Friday, December 6, then to the national championship game on Saturday, December 7 if they advance.
