The Lancaster Bible College Women's Volleyball team traveled down to Bob Jones University in Greenville, S.C. for a four-game weekend, beginning the trip Friday afternoon with a five-set win over Boyce and a five-set loss to Brevard. The Chargers are now 7-2 on the year, while the Bulldogs drop to 4-6 and the Tornado improve to 5-2 overall.

How it Happened:
The Chargers capitalized on some early errors from the Bulldogs and used kills from
Riley Dodrer and
Lea Sareyka to build a lead. Boyce battled in the first two sets, but the Chargers were able to finish them both off to take an early 2-0 set lead. Boyce responded strongly, taking set three and then winning a tightly contested fourth set 25-23 to force a deciding fifth set with LBC. The Chargers opened up an 8-4 lead in set five, but the Bulldogs battled back to a two-point deficit to force a Chargers timeout. It was Lancaster Bible that came out on top 15-13 to finish off a five-set opening win for the weekend.

How it Happened:
Lea Sareyka sparked the Chargers early with two kills and a service ace, maintaining a tie with the Tornado throughout the set. Brevard took a 19-16 lead late in the set, and despite a fight from LBC, closed out set one 25-23. The Tornado jumped out to a 4-0 lead in set two, then a four-point run later in the set led by
Madison Reap with a kill and a block tied the game at 11. The game took some drastic swings with a seven-point streak from Brevard followed by massive 10-1 run from the Chargers, with kills from Sareyka and
Eden Belford highlighting the run. Brevard fought back, but a
Leah Helman ace and a kill from Sareyka helped LBC grab set two 25-23.

The teams stayed even in the early goings before two aces from Reap and a block from
Riley Dodrer capped a seven-point run for the Chargers to take a 14-9 lead. Moments later, the Chargers rattled off four straight points with back-to-back aces from Helman, then another long streak from LBC gave them a 25-20 win and a 2-1 advantage in the match.

Set four stayed close for a majority of the set as Fletcher, Reap, and Sareyka landed kills for the Chargers. The Tornado, however, used some late kills and a key block to win the set 25-19 and force a deciding fifth set in back-to-back games for the Chargers. Lancaster Bible got off to a 5-1 start in set five behind kills from Belford and
Sheyenne King, but Brevard swung right back to take an 8-6 lead. King capped off three in a row for the Chargers to tie it at 12, then the game was tied at 13 and 14 before the Tornado pulled away and handed LBC a 3-2 loss to end the day.

Madison Reap tied a season-high with 19 digs against the Tornado.
